It's chili outside

Image
For a chilly night a few lemon chili. Ripen off for Peter to use in chili con carne. That'll warm everything up.

Big Autumn Tidy

Image
So the allotment is being dug over for winter. In at the moment for next season are beetroot, red onions, garlic & in memory of my Grandfather, sweet williams. The big autumn tidy is now on.

Sunflower sunshine!

Image
This wee beauty was in a paper cup by the communal shed, neglected & unloved. I took it down to 15a & planted it. My reward? A little ray of golden sunshine. Stunning.

Tatties

Image
Remember those potatoes I got for free from Green's? End of season, all chatted together. Well nice crop they produced. Unfortunately I didn't get the variety name.

Carrot life

Image
I give you carrots. My carrots, that I growed.... Maestro F1.

Sandown coffee morning

Image
Made lemon drizzle cake for the coffee morning. Delivered straight from the oven & still warm. I acquired an onion from The Onion King, a fellow allotmenter... Which in turn was transformed into cheese & onion pie by Peter... Meanwhile I acquired a Could Blush Apple. Perfect for Caorunn Gin & Tonic...

Redcurrants & raspberries

Image
Raspberries galore...nice with a bit of Yeo Valley Greek style yougart. But the redcurrants went for homemade redcurrant jelly....well yummy too...on a ham butty.

Aunt Madge

Image
Aunt Madge (not to be mistaken for Aunty Angie, The Mad One) has been pretty fruitful. Seeds saved for 2019. In the background is Lemon Chilli. Also planted in the polytunnel, producing a crop that required ripping on the window ledge due to late planting. Seeds also saved.
